The product assumes the user already produces Primavera P6 schedules and needs a faster way to compare baselines, present Earned Value performance to a client and audit subcontractor progress against the master programme. It is not a replacement for the P6 planning engine itself.
The user uploads one or more XER files exported from Primavera P6. Schedule size is not a constraint: Hallward handles small programmes of a few hundred activities and large ones well past 50,000, with parsing time scaling to the file rather than being fixed. Hallward reads the activity list, the WBS hierarchy, the baselines, the resource assignments and the progress records. Each update is retained alongside the previous ones, so performance can be trended across the full history of a project rather than compared two files at a time. Within minutes the user receives an interactive dashboard with Earned Value curves, Schedule Performance Index and Cost Performance Index metrics, a Planning Tracker that compares baseline against current, a Critical Path view, a Schedule Health Check and a Milestone Tracker. Every view can be printed to an A3 PDF that carries the project name, the generation date and the Hallward branding.
Excel and Power BI both require manual data wrangling each time a new XER file lands. The planner has to clean activity codes, rebuild pivot tables and reconcile baselines by hand which is susceptible to human error. Hallward removes that manual loop.
